• Airbus

  
  As a result of several combined heat and power (CHP) units being installed, Airbus’ Broughton Plant now benefits from an environmentally friendly energy resource that has significantly lowered Carbon Dioxide emissions while also reducing energy bills by providing both heat and electricity from one fuel source. The dual capability of the CHP units means they not only supply heating, electricity and air conditioning to the plants’ factory space and offices, but are also used in various aspects of the A380 Airbus manufacturing processes.
  The installation, including 2800m of gas pipe, was scheduled and carried out over a three day Bank Holiday weekend in order to meet the client’s existing timescale.
  CHP plants are one of the solutions to meeting Government targets to reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions to lower levels than those required by the Kyoto Protocol.

• Cleveland Potash

  
  The project at Boulby Potash Mine near Scarborough is, in many ways, typical of
  ES Pipelines' approach to connecting potential customers to the national gas supply network. The site had been experiencing significant problems with its fuel source and wanted to switch to gas as part of its plan for long-term energy supply. Gas would enable the mine to re-process many of the previously untreated waste products and convert them into materials that could be used in newly developed manufacturing techniques employed in other industries.
  ES Pipelines was able to achieve a competitive cost for the project and simultaneously provide a gas supply to the local villages of Easington, Staithes and Hinderwell.
